Better Late Than Never

Sorry about my lack of posting.  I’ve been trying to get my taxes done and haven’t had the time to devote to blogging.  I will try to do better, my friends!

Since the 8th, we’ve been keeping to the same schedule and we’ve been seeing quick improvement as well.  One of the interesting side-effects for us is that when we work out before dinner, we don’t feel as hungry and don’t eat as much as we did before.

As a result, I’ve been seeing the waistline of my dress pants expanding, and I think I’m going to have to take them in.  Or maybe it’s my own waistline decreasing!  Kettlebells really make an improvement in your health and well-being!

There was a recent article in the March 18th Wall Street Journal (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120579081638043241.html) on kettlebell training that was good p.r. for us kettlebell fans.  However, the personal trainer they interviewed who stated she wouldn’t advise starting her clients on a kettlebell routine missed the mark and may not have ever used a kettlebell.  She stated that that the kettlebell swing was “too risky” and may put too much strain on a trainer’s joints.

PUH-lease!  With the proper instruction, or by carefully following the guidelines in one of many kettlebell instructional DVDs available, the novice kettlebell trainer can expect to see an improvement in their fitness level and may even find (as I have) that the practice of the swing serves to relieve me of little aches and pains.

There have been many occasions when I’ve been working out with free weights or have neglected my training altogether and have developed lower back pain.  To a “T”, whenever I spent a few sessions swinging the kettlebell for easy reps, my back pain has disappeared.

Now I won’t go so far as to say that kettlebells will cure your back pain, but that has been the case for me.  If you have chronic back pain, consult a medical practitioner or chiropractor first, and if you decide to train with kettlebells, start easily and follow the instruction of an expert.  Don’t scrimp on your training and education, your body will thank you in the long run!

Although I have never had any serious continual back pain.
Only a few semi-bad back injuries from heavy trad. weight training.
I have however had quite a few lower back strains I imagine due to in efficiencies and weakness in my lower back from lack of direct careful training to this area.
Along came kettlebells and totally blew away this problem, resulting in anm extremely strong lower back and abs and totally injury free to boot. My explanation for this is kb swings and lots of them, with plenty of rest in between.

    Keep up the good work
    Thanks
    Rob
