I discovered that attempting to get ahead of yourself and ignoring your limitations (lack of good sleep, diet) can be a definite detriment to progress.
In hindsight, I think my decision to use the 32s when I was trying to heal my elbow may have been a bit optimistic, to say the least. While I’ve had a lot less pain in my elbow as RTK went along, it became really noticeable when jerking the 32s.
For my last week of Return of The Kettlebell training, I decided to move up to the final rung of 10, but do 4 ladders with my 24 kg kettlebells.
I’ve decided to make this my last block before the HKC certification on the 25th of this month. This will give me 2 blocks each of grinds and explosives. I’ll have a review of Return of The Kettlebell once I’m done.
The increase to 5 ladders was really noticeable. I think that long cycle is really the ultimate strength endurance exercise as it will work both your muscles and your lungs at the same time.
