Don’t Think About It, Just Do It…

Try and fail, but don’t fail to try.~Steven Kaggwa

TGU’s on Saturday afternoon.  It wasn’t our usual workout time, but our Friday evening was full and fitting practice time in was out of the question then.

Our usual time to exercise has always been the late afternoon and early evening, so 2:00 o’clock on a Saturday afternoon was a little out of the ordinary.  Add to that the fact that both of us felt fatigued and were yawning like it was 11:00 at night and you had two people who were not motivated to exercise.

Instead of jumping into our 10-minute warm-up, I took us through about 10 minutes of joint mobility work before we started our regular warm-up.  Even then, 4 rounds felt like 40 and my interest in training was waning.

I thought about an interesting article I read on how training at certain times was probably not as important as where one trains — of the “Begin To Dig” blog.  Essentially, if you can get yourself to a warm, tropical location, you can train at any time.

However, for those of us battling the Winter blahs and dreaming about the ultimate tropical location, we just have to press on.

So we did.

Five minute time limit.

Four reps right.

Four reps left.

Alternate reps right and left.

She:  9 kilo kettlebell.

He:  24 kilo kettlebell.

Back to swings on Monday for 30 rep sets.

Enjoy the holiday for those of you who have it off.
