Kettlebell Fitness – Level 8 Complete

Tonight I continued on my trek along the kettlebell fitness path by completing Level 8 with my 16 kg.  Once again, to stay with my Girevoy Sport goal of making rank in the WKC system, I stayed with the triple threat – Jerk, Snatch and Long Cycle.

I finally got through to the kids that they can’t play Nerf football next to me when I’m doing my workout, and I ditched my music as well.  I found it much easier to stay focused on finding my groove and making my time and reps.

I also started pretty cold, as I haven’t been running the heat as much this winter (PG&E being too expensive), but once I finished my jerks, I quickly warmed up and built up a good sweat by the time I finished, 33 minutes later.

I didn’t mention it previously, but I’m still doing my mobility drills during my warm-ups and cool-downs.

Tomorrow I’ll be starting level 9 – 2′:00 sets with 2′:00 rests.  I’m excited to start using my 20 kg again, but will be patient and stick with the 16 kg until I get to level 20.

I’m also looking forward to the release of the full WKC kettlebell fitness system (as are many others), however I’m really enjoying the progression of the basic system as well.

IBA, out.
